Warm blankets for cold nights

As a charity, we focus on improving the lives of Haiti’s most vulnerable children. Firstly, there’s our work on the ground – building, repairing and improving facilities at the Island’s overburdened orphanages, but did you know that we also maintain a regular supply line of aid shipped directly from Ireland?

Each sea-going container we ship delivers 74 cubic metres of life changing capacity – everything from hospital beds to wheelchairs, construction supplies to clothing and first aid.
Established over 90 years ago, Celtic Linen are partners to the healthcare and hospitality sectors in Ireland, delivering over one million freshly laundered items per week. One of our most regular donors, Celtic Linen have donated countless towels, blankets, curtains and hospital scrubs for use by Hatian families for whom something as simple as a functioning towel has become a real luxury.

Poverty is widespread across the Island and local people simply cannot access those items that you and I take for granted. We’ve put together hundreds of bundles with a mix of different linens, allowing us pass them directly to needy families on the ground.

Celtic Linen have given dignity back to many families, ensuring they have clean blankets and bedding to sleep on each night. Donated linens have also been sent to the overburdened orphanages, giving the same dignity back to children who lost their families in the quake of 2010.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Celtic Linen for their continued support and to ask for just a little of yours – we’d appreciate it if you could SHARE this post to your network to help us spread the word of our work on the ground. Haiti may no longer be front page news, but it’s children are always in our hearts.
Please SHARE – thank you.
