Fire is an ever-present hazard in conflict torn Ukraine. Be it as a direct result of military action, damaged electrical infrastructure or simply people trying to stay warm and dry with inadequate materials.
Early on, almost all the fire extinguishing materials in public and private use were exhausted, making it difficult to control fires as they occurred. Our friends in Dublin Fire Brigade donated 1,500 handheld fire extinguishers that have been shipped to the emergency services in Ukraine.
Many of them have been installed in displaced persons centres to ensure the ability to respond should a fire break out in these critically important buildings.
