Food, clothing and medical supplies are the core of our relief aid efforts. But experience has taught us it’s the things you and I take for granted that are often hardest to get in places struck by conflict or natural disaster.
If you’re a mother with a young child at a displaced persons centre, a supply of nappies can mean the world. The same can be said for a toothbrush or a bar of soap.
In amongst all the medical supplies, food and warm clothing, we always make sure that a good supply of personal hygiene products are included – simple things that give vulnerable people a little everyday dignity, a sense that things can improve, that normal life might one day be restored.
