When people are forced to flee their home, as has been the case in parge parts of the Ukraine, they bring their pets too.
For many of us, our pets are part of the family and leaving them behind would be heartbreaking. We’ve been delivering tonnes of food and supplies for relocated people, but did you know that we’ve been sending food for their pets too?
Dog and cat food in particular almost disappeared in some places after the conflict started and many peoples’ pets were going hungry or eating foodstuffs that were leading to ill-health. But it’s not just pets we’ve been able to help, working dogs are getting fed too.
These animals have been trained to find people in rubble and collapsed buildings and the food donated by our friends in Tirlan has helped keep these canine heroes in tip-top shape.
