If you know anyone that has ever needed dialysis, you’ll now its an exhausting but life saving treatment.
The conflict in Ukraine has had huge effects on the capacity of the health system, with facilities damaged or over capacity and resources consumed by the needs of the injured.
In this environment, it’s often the regular but critical treatments that you and I take for granted that suffer most, with dialysis treatments high on that list. The Beacon Hospital donated 28 dialysis machines worth over €2.8m that we have been able to transport to regional medical facilities across Ukraine.
Thanks to their generosity a huge number of people will receive literally life saving medical care that may have otherwise been impossible.
